Sorry everyone, I know it has been a terrible long time. I lost my inspiration when I lost my dog, Percy. She was suddenly diagnosed with bladder cancer that had spread to her lungs...we were told the news on the same day we were told she was "untreatable" on Tues. Jan. 9. We brought her home on Thurs. Jan. 11 and she died several hours later, at home, with Tom, my mother, and I. To say we miss her is an extreme understatement.
Thank you to all of you who have stood by us during this time. I have not been mistaken into thinking the extraordinary flood of flowers, cards, calls and emails have been because Tom and I are popular...we know it is because of Percy and how much she was loved and adored by so many and we do appreciate it.
Some thoughts that I am willing to share about the dog that ruled my life and kept me sane....
Contrary to other dogs, she was all bite and no bark.
and
she proved that it is "not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog".
I hope that Dog Heaven is an all-day tether ball game, followed by chasing tennis balls on the beach, and ending in a bacon-wrapped steak dinner and a full-body massage even better than the ones I gave you.
We love you Percy.
